Unused dryer sheets contain cationic detergents that are corrosive to mucous membranes. Chewing one can cause chemical burns or ulcers in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach, and the sheet itself can cause an intestinal obstruction.

Notes

Signs include excessive drooling, gulping, and vomiting (with or without blood).
