A chemical irritant to paw pads, causing burning, cracking, or frostbite-like injury when pellets lodge between toes, and can cause vomiting or diarrhea if licked off paws or ingested directly.

Notes

Wiping paws with a damp cloth after walking on treated ground reduces both the skin and ingestion risk.
